At just 24 years old, native New Yorker Brette Sandler shook up the swimwear industry when she launched her senior thesis swimwear collection at Parsons School of Design and instantly caught the attention of such noteworthy retailers as Barney’s, Searle and Calypso.  The collection’s modern appeal and chic vintage silhouettes have quickly made Brette Sandler Swimwear a favorite of young Hollywood and fashionistas from coast to coast.

During her 2 year internship at Michael Kors, Brette learned the importance of classic style.  With this experience and inspired by the chic sun-worshipping style icons of the 70s including Brigitte Bardot and Britt Ekland, Brette created her trademark sleek, retro-cut suits embellished with vintage chains and hardware.  Her attention to detail, use of bright candy colors and sumptuous metallics, and the wearable nature of her designs have turned the new brand into a sought after label.

And Brette couldn’t be happier about delivering sexy yet flattering swimwear to her peers.  “Many women look at bathing suit shopping as a chore, but my designs are classic yet hip.  I want them to change the landscape of swimsuit shopping and allow my customers to enjoy and feel confident about their purchases.” Brette has recently expanded her collection to include luxurious, embroidered silk tunics. 

            Brette resides in Manhattan.  When not designing, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, brunches at Pastis and searching for vintage finds at the Chelsea Flea Market.  One of her favorite getaways is Clifton Beach in South Africa.
